Allan Lawrence

Fine Art

The twentieth century saw the birth of abstraction in the fine art of painting, For the first time in history artists were free from the constraints of convention, and were able to fully explorer the medium of painting.

Allan Lawrence was a student of this era, and was nearly overwhelmed by the possibilities of exploring the artist's inner psyche, the medium of paint, and the possibilities of creating works of great beauty without overt reference to the visible world around us. He was particularly inluenced by the works of the great early proponent of geometric abstraction, the Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian, and by the great American Abstract Expressionist, Mark Rothko. Allan pays homage to these twentieth century greats in his art.

Paying homage to his two favorite artists, Piet Mondrian and Mark Rothko, allows Lawrence to create artworks that evoke the great twentieth century masters, that remain affordable to collectors of all means. Admirers of Rothko and Mondrian can now have original, hand made, works of art similar to work in the great national museums and private collections, at reasonable and affordable prices.
